Ray Bascom

Ray lived in Texas and passed away on April 6, 2006.  He is survived by his wife Nina; his stepson Sean (24); his son Ian (15); and his daughter Lindsay (14).  The ages of the family are their ages at Ray's date of passing.

His life is described by a beautiful obituary written in 2006:

Ray Bascom of San Antonio, TX age 41, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2006. He was born in San Francisco; however the family lived in Daly City, near the San Francisco city limits. Raymond attended Vista Grand Elementary School in Daly City, and MacGregor Elementary school in Newark, CA.

 He then attended Newark High School Class of 1983 where he lettered in track. He married his best friend of five years on January 26th, 1991, enjoying 15 wonderful years of marriage. In 1994 he moved to San Antonio, TX., where he excelled while working for high tech companies such as VLSI, Philips Semiconductor, and Maxim, garnering many performance awards.

 He was affectionately known as RayRay among family and friends, he loved to play video games, Dark Tower, and go fishing. He was a long time avid, and long time suffering San Diego Chargers Fan.

 He was preceded in death by his father Wayne Arthur Bascom Sr. Ray is survived by his wife Nina Katherine Bascom La Hue;mother Dolores Edwina Bascom; children, Sean Michael La Hue, Ian Thomas Bascom and Lindsay Ellen Bascom; brothers and sisters, Wayne Arthur Bascom, Jr. and wife Chae, Paul Phillip Bascom, Robin Margaret Bascom, Victoria Ann Bascom, Theresa Marie Gomez and Michael Joseph Bascom and wife Diane; aunt and uncle, John Paul Robin and wife Sharon; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, David La Hue, Lane Heslington, Gordon La Hue, Lori Chambers and Kyle Madrid; grandchildren, Gabriella Katharine La Hue and Michael Isaiah La Hue; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bryan Wake

I aways liked Ray. He was a great guy out with. I was watching the news one day, and thought I saw and heard his named mentioned. In my mind, I seem to remember him being a cop. Is this true? God bless him and his family.
